If I am alone I can blow up balloon & even hold the balloon and even play with it. But when I am around people I get scared that they will pop the balloon.

Just dont go to parties around ballons, you dont see ballons a lot in your everyday life, though just try to prevent it by not going to such parties or ask the person hosting the parties to limit the balloons.

Don't blow up balloons around other people and if you must then move to a corner where they can't come up on the sides or behind you without you seeing them. You might try blowing one up, when you are alone, until it pops to confront your fear. Then you have the control and will find that it won't actually harm you. You might first try to blow up some balloons and sit on them to get the feeling of the popping before having it go off in your face. I have blown up a balloon until it pops, it startled me a bit but there was no other discomfort.

Stay away from balloons around people if you can. My friend does, cause it hurts his ears.

YOu know what you do.... pop a balloon yourself.... then you can kill those awful scary balloons whats worse is if you have necrophobia... the fear of humans

It shouldn't be much of an issue...you shouldn't come into contact with balloons too often...keep ear plugs handy...

I would avoid carnivals and especially clowns, not sure how a person would go about finding a solution to a problem like this.

I did not even know this existed but you should pop all of the balloons before someone else pops them.(if a party say you like to pop em all at the end or if they are going to pop it go out of the room untill they poped it)

You should see a counsler. and only take baloons around people you trust.tell them about your phobia and theyll understand.

Do you have any idea what Freud would say about this??? Play with your blown-up balloon all you want....but really---you should work on getting laid, and forget the expensive therapy.

Wow, some of these answers are really ignorant. everyone is scared of something ! its a difficult situation because its a shame to have to live your life in fear and miss out on parties and places with balloon. maybe you could see a psychiatrist to look for ways to cope with you fear (i know probably not the answer you were looking for). all i can say is being scared is a choice. it may seem extremely hard at times but if you get the help you need you can overcome the fear and live life to the fullest. good luck and best of wishes :)
